With the construction of the Casa Batlló, Gaudí's career reached its preliminary climax. With this building comes the use of glazed tiles and the undulating movement in the structure for the first time to dominate the Gaudí architecture. The house is built on top of an existing building that Gaudí transformed and gave new life and contains numerous references to the Catalan culture.
